SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER: Santa Rosa, CA Requisition Number: 09-0052 Description: Kleinfelder's Santa Rosa office has an immediate need for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide a high level of technical competency for a diversity of project opportunities in addition to mentoring junior staff. This is an excellent opportunity to work with some of the industry's best, tackling technical challenges on large scale projects, such as Caltrans roads and bridges, geothermal and solar projects, capital improvement projects and landslides. The successful candidate will participate in nationwide professional groups within Kleinfelder which will allow for accelerated technical expertise development in areas of choice. This same nationwide involvement will also allow for career advancement as technical knowledge is gained and further utilized. The ideal candidate must have at least 8 years experience in geotechnical consulting, and the ability to provide high-end technical support on complex geotechnical projects. As a senior technical resource and role model, this position requires a positive attitude and an ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and junior staff. Experience with project management is required. Strong analytical and computer skills are required in areas including, slope stability analysis, retaining wall analysis, bearing capacity analysis, pile design, and foundation design. An MS from an accredited college/university is preferred with a major in civil/geotechnical engineering. Professional Registration (PE) or the ability to obtain registration in the State of California within 3 months. California Geotechnical Engineer preferred or the ability to obtain within 12 months Requirements: 10+ years of related experience in consulting engineering firm or related service business and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required; or 8 years related experience with MS or 6 years related experience with PhD. Certifications or registrations as available by profession. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Oracle experience preferred. Excellent communication skills and in-depth knowledge of Company operations and products. Applies the most current technologies/methodologies in field of expertise. Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required. MS desired.
