Summary: As Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering projects from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, and prime contract close-out. Candidate must be knowledgeable of building codes, state agency procedures, have an understanding of the project phases from project set-up through design, agency submission, bidding, construction and construction close-out, have a basic understanding of all the disciplines involved in the design of a building including building materials and systems. Candidate must have an understanding of AIA documents, including contracts, and basic accounting principals. Candidate must possess knowledge of architectural and construction principles/practices, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) Design Requirements and have extensive familiarity and experience with applicable codes (UBC, IBC, UFC, SBC, Life Safety, etc). The successful candidate must have proven experience in managing both small and large Department of Defense (DoD) projects from inception to project closeout and possess substantial knowledge of principles and techniques of personnel supervision and ability to work closely with all disciplines. Candidate must possess proven excellence with writing and communication skills. Architectural License and LEED Certification are preferred as well as experience with BIM. á 8 - 10 years of relevant experience with design and management of architectural projects required á Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) contracts required á Candidate must be proficient with AutoCAD, Micro Station, Microsoft Excel, Word and Project á Minimum education of a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field is required Job Responsibilities: The Project Manager's responsibilities include being able to develop budgets and schedules, monitor progress, and initiate action to assure task objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budgetary constraints. The individual will have to prepare monthly status reports documenting work progress, including identification of deliverables, funds expended/remaining, and description of remaining work activities. These items will be submitted in accordance with client requirements and to their satisfaction. The successful candidate must be able to supervise the project team, work well with all coworkers and to provide a positive contribution to the work environment as well as have the flexibility to support the work load in other Studios and function as a productive team member in a multi-discipline A&E firm. á Main Client Contact: responsible for the development and maintenance of a good working relationship with the Client, determine Client's project objectives from the very beginning and maintain Client satisfaction throughout the course of the project á Project Program: development and maintenance of project scope / program with Project Team á Project Schedule: development and maintenance of project schedule with Project Team á Project Budget: development and maintenance of project budget with Project Team á Project Business Manager: responsibility for the project's financial success - manage the team in internal cost budgets from initial project set up through Construction Closeout á Understand contractual obligation á Pursue Contract Amendments for additional work. á Communicate with Project Team, both internally and externally. á Identify and evaluate project risks á Initiate and monitor consultant relationships á Conduct meetings with Project Team, including architectural and engineering team, consultants, client and construction manager á Responsible for project set-up and programming (pre-referendum) phases á Coordinate and monitor progress of design phases, including schematic design, design development and construction documents á Schedule and coordinate QA / QC process and ensure that all appropriate comments are incorporated into the construction documents á Schedule and coordinate the bidding of projects á Monitor construction and construction close-out phases á Responsible for in-house scheduling of projects á Responsible to motivate staff and set appropriate standards for professional performance á Synthesize team ideas and contributions á Other duties as assigned by Senior Project Manager, Regional Manager and/or Vice President of Federal Facilities.
