Job Description:

Tetra Tech EM Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, is seeking a Senior Environmental Remediation Expert to work in our Reston, Virginia office.

The ideal candidate will develop and manage technical projects involving the research and analysis of environmental remediation technologies and the implementation of technology transfer activities. Successful candidates will have the ability to provide expert consulting services to clients on hazardous waste remediation technologies with an emphasis on innovative technologies and approaches for addressing groundwater contamination. Responsibilities will include identifying and developing new project opportunities under existing contracts, including preparing concept papers and presenting ideas to prospective clients, and leading or supporting new contract or project proposals. Project management activities will include preparing and managing budgets, developing project execution plans, managing and coordinating the efforts of multi-disciplinary project teams, and communicating and coordinating with government clients. Technical expertise will focus on carrying out technology transfer efforts, including researching, analyzing, and documenting applications of innovative remediation technologies and approaches for the investigation or cleanup of hazardous waste sites.

Job Requirements:

10+ years experience in environmental consulting or related experience required with a proven record of managing projects under government contracts. Direct experience addressing groundwater contamination issues and remedial technologies required, with the application of emerging or innovative technologies preferred. We are looking for a Seller-Doer with excellent technical skills, proven leadership, and business development capabilities. Candidates should have experience developing and supporting federal or state government programs. Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Must also have the ability to turn initial concepts into full-scale projects. Excellent communication, client interaction and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications required.

M.S. in Hydrogeology, Engineering, Geochemistry, or related degree required. Years of experience may be substituted for advanced degree. Professional registrations highly desirable.
