Our Wilmington, MA office is seeking a Risk Assessment-Environmental Scientist IV to provide senior-level technical support to environmental investigation and remediation projects, primarily in the field of human health risk assessment, statistical analysis, and report preparation. Project management tasks may also be required.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities that include assimilating data to evaluate risk to human receptors due to impacts from chemical releases to air, soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water, etc. Extensive data management, manipulation and statistical testing may be required. The selected candidate will prepare risk assessment reports in compliance with USEPA guidance documents, USEPA Region I policies, CERCLA, and New England state programs. To meet these requirements, the successful candidate will need to assist in the preparation of investigation work plans by providing input for selection of sampling media, locations, determining potential receptors that may be exposed to contaminants from new or historic chemical releases. This position will also provide input on the selection of project action limits based on current toxicity values for established and emerging contaminants, and as pertinent to the various media sampled. Assist in the planning of data use, determining appropriate statistical analysis of data collected.

Job Requirements:

This position requires a Masters Degree in any of the health sciences, and between 5 and 15 years experience evaluating environmental data and conducting human health risk assessments under CERCLA. Experience with MCP Method 3 risk assessment a plus.

We require excellent technical, writing, and verbal communication skills. General computer, word processing, and spreadsheet/database capabilities are required. Knowledge/experience in computer-based mapping (ARC MAP, ARCVIEW, GIS) software is desirable. The ability to effectively work both independently and within a team environment is critical. The candidate needs to be self-motivated and be able to quickly respond to client questions and requests.
